HiperCard - In March 2004, Unibanco acquired the total capital of HiperCard Administradora de Cartão de Crédito Ltda. HiperCard was established in 1982 to be Bompreço supermarkets private label credit card company and is presently accepted in more than 80 thousand points-of-sale in the South, Southeast and Northeast of Brazil. HiperCard is the main means of payment used in the Bompreço and Wal-Mart stores all over the country.
PontoCred - In August 2001, Unibanco announced a strategic alliance with Globex S.A., the owner of Ponto Frio nationwide chain of household appliance stores. Due to to this transaction, Unibanco purchased a 50% interest in Globex's subsidiary PontoCred, which provides consumer finance to Ponto Frio's customers.
LuizaCred - In September 2001, Fininvest established a strategic partnership with Magazine Luiza, a well known Brazilian chain of department stores geographically well positioned in São Paulo state, southern Brazil and southern Minas Gerais state. RedeCard - Founded in 1996, Redecard is the company responsible for capturing and transmitting credit and debit card transactions from brands such as MasterCard, Mastercard Maestro, RedeShop, MasterCard Electronic, Maestro and Diners Club International. Unibanco AIG Seguros e Previdência - Unibanco AIG Seguros & Previdência unites, under the same brand, both Unibanco AIG Seguros and Unibanco AIG Previdência, companies that personify the credibility, solidity and experience of two important groups: Unibanco, one of Brazil's leading privately-owned financial institutions and AIG (American International Group), the world's largest insurance firm.
Unibanco Asset Management - Founded in 1995, UAM - Unibanco Asset Management was Brazil's first third-party asset management specialized firm which, although linked to a major bank, was independent of its parent company. It was designed to provide asset managers with more autonomy to take decisions and also to ensure that its results were more transparent and never confused with Unibanco's banking activities.
Banco Dibens - Responsible for financing vehicle purchases. In June 2005, Unibanco, which already owned 51% of Banco Dibens, acquired full control of the firm, consolidating its operations with those of Unibanco Financeira. The Dibens' brand is now used for financing heavy vehicle purchases and Unibanco Financeira's one for light vehicle acquisitions.
